I was raised in the small town of Bishop, Ca where I spent the first 17 years of my life. A majority of my life was spent snowboarding, riding bikes, playing the drums and doing musical theater productions with the community playhouse. My friends and I documented just about all of our activities with small video cameras. Starting with the cameras that took little tapes, to phone videos, it didn't matter, as long as we could watch it later.
I started getting into photography after high school. Mostly bike related photos. I would shoot for my friends during their contest runs and some lifestyle photos to supply them with images for their social media pages and sponsors. After doing my first few portrait sessions, I knew this is what I wanted to do with my photography. Couples, families, and Seniors all have different characteristics that I love. When I am shooting solo with somebody, I love being able to connect with that person. I like to share laughs, small stories, and through the photographs, an everlasting memory together. Now this is of course the same with family and couples, but something very important is added when shooting a couple or a family. Love. It is my responsibility as a photographer to capture the love and happiness of your family or relationship.
Although I was a stubborn child, who absolutely hated taking family pictures, I could not be more thankful to have those photos now. I spend a lot of time away from home, traveling and competing professionally on a mountain bike, and having those photos to look at is wonderful. When I am home, I find myself day in, and day out, looking at my parents hallway of photos in which my mom has so nicely displayed many years of family portraits. They are timeless.
