Camp High Sierra Wedding Photography, Mammoth Lakes | Nicole & Jesse

Wow. I could say just that single word and let the pictures speak. The raw emotion that was present at Camp High Sierra for Nicole and Jesse’s wedding day was just beautiful. Mammoth venues always make for beautiful backdrops but this group of people could have made a parking lot wedding look good. The scenery couldn’t compete with their laughs, tears, and explosive energy.

Speaking of explosive energy, the dance floor went off. DJ Rick with Freshtracks Entertainment kept the hype. His ability to read the crowd is unbelievable. Nicole had said how much she liked my dance floor images and I thought to myself “oh no, pressure is on.” I say this because, these shots couldn’t be possible without good energy. And that energy often has to start with the bride and groom and then it spreads like a virus. It is very often that the bride or groom spend little time on the dance floor and then I am limited with how many chances I get for epic shots. But let me tell you, I took thousands of images during that two hour open-dancing window and, for the first time ever, I was actually struggling to decide which images weren’t going to make the cut.

I had the privilege of visiting Joshua Tree with Nicole and Jesse for their engagement session a while back. They hadn’t locked in their wedding date yet. As time passed I started to get worried. I was worried I would see some wedding photos on their social media from somebody else. Oh gosh that would have made me sad. Obviously the phone call did come though, and I couldn’t be more thankful. Photographing a wedding with genuine, beautiful and appreciative people like Nicole and Jesse is a dream. They allowed my assistant and I to feel so comfortable. They trusted our judgement every step of the way and so we just aimed for the stars all day. 7,749 times to be exact.

Thank you Nicole and Jesse, for allowing us to make these images. Thank you for letting us be the ones to make these memories timeless. We should make this an annual thing. Haha.
