The Elm Estate, Reno, NV Wedding Photography | Megan & Kevin

I would like to start this blog with the fact that my partner and I shot exactly 8000 photos on this wedding day. I don’t know how we ended up on that exact number, but it was one of those “hey that’s neat” moments. Anyway, The Elm Estate in Reno, Nevada made for a perfect backdrop for Megan and Kevin’s wedding.

There were so many moments that made me laugh out loud during the day. My favorite, though, was when Megan sprayed my partner with champagne during the ‘getting ready’ portion of the day. I would like to say it was an accident but this was on the second try. On the first attempt he got hit with the cork. So I would say it seemed pretty intentional. Ha! I joke. It really was funny though. I was shooting, everyone was laughing and I turn around to see my partner covered in champagne. It was epic.

During the reception I stood on the table and brought out my inner MC to group 180 people into one photo, which was, surprisingly, really fun. They actually laughed at my jokes… Or they just wanted me to feel good. The world will never know. I was ‘one-upped’ by Megan, though, when she stood on the bar and danced. That was probably not allowed but she’s the bride. She said “Nic I’m going to go jump up and dance on the bar.” I was like, “That’s what I’m talking about.”

Jokes aside, Kevin made me tear up with his vows. I was not looking at his face as my partner was on ‘Kevin-Duty’ during the ceremony, but his words and the way his voice trembled really made me feel it. I hear a lot of vows so it really takes a lot to make me tear up.

Thank you, Megan and Kevin, for allowing me to capture your special day. Thank you for being open to my champagne spray idea and thank you for singing your hearts out at the end of the night to “Colt 45” by Afroman. That really was the greatest way to top off the day.

Here are some moments from the day.
